Events and Workshops

We have a unique organizational structure to ensure that we can effectively carry out our mission. We have various departments responsible for different aspects of our organization including workshops, conferences, and public events. 

Conferences

  • The ancestral meaning of the day of the dead festivity
  • Community panels with diverse cultural representatives to relate our vision of life-death and after life. Processing grieving and understanding oneself/remembering those that have departed from this life time.
  • Circle of life discussion, how do we remember our love ones by honoring them and how do we want to be remember
  • Modern Día de los Muertos celebration and its influences in art and community (including Guadalupe Posada)
  • Our  Mother Tonanzin here and always AKA La virgen de Guadalupe
  • Cartoneria-Mojigangas from Carmen Caballero to our studio in The Franklinton District by Leticia Vazquez-Smith

2025  Enameling Necklace Workshop with Artist: Isabel Berzosa Delgado

Ages: Adults  Enameling Necklace Workshop: Technique Overview.  Discover the timeless art of enameling i this hands-on workshop, beginning with a brief introduction to its rich history and cultural significance. Participats will learn the sifting technique, applying powdered enamel onto copper surfaces to create vibrant, durable deigns.

Hablemos en Español * Conversation Club

Every other Saturday twice a month

The Spanish-Speaking Club is the best way to speak Spanish in a real-life setting in a structured conversation group with a native Spanish-speaking host.

By completing this module:

  • you’ll learn how to converse on a wide range of topics
  • you’ll perfect your verb conjugation so you can speak in different tenses
  • you’ll be able to conversationally use your Spanish so you feel confident when traveling or conversing with a native speaker
